Kindergarten Round-Up

Okay, no more being in denial--my baby girl is starting KINDERGARTEN! She's been ready to go for a couple of years now, seriously, so I am super happy for her; but trying to mend my own heart at the same time. I think I'll be the one dealing with separation anxiety this time around, but I'm just leaving the details to God knowing that he'll be faithful to walk both Shawn and myself through this journey of kindergarten.

Faith was SO excited to pick out her dress this morning that she'd wear to her new school. Upon arrival, we got to see a baby chick hatch before our eyes. The kids played and read books, while the parents listened to the teachers and principals talk about the dual-language and kinder experience. At the end, we toured the kindergarten pod (I'd already observed the classrooms there a couple times already, but Faith never saw the pod). She loved playing in the centers and checking out the kinder computer lab. Not only do all the classrooms have Smartboards, but, they also have Smart Tables--TOO COOL! We also visited the nurse and the cafeteria. So, after today, I'm an official PTO mom, our t-shirts are ordered for next year, and our supplies are already ordered and will be shipped to her classroom.

I love that Faith's school is literally A MILE away from mine--I seriously thought about teaching elementary again, but God told me to stay right where I was. I love that the school is located in the heart of Downtown McKinney--with all the budget cuts; they can literally take walking field trips to the Performing Arts Center, The Playhouse, the public library, the firestation, etc. There's so much more that I've already fallen in love with about this school and God continues to show us exactly why he brought us here. Thanking Him for his FAITHfulness...
