Jaxon actually turned one on March 23rd (on Easter), but March was such a busy month; that we decided to have his party the first weekend in April. Today both sides of the family came over to celebrate the big event! We had a SUPER time!! I was very surprised that my football coach husband did not chose a football theme for Jaxon's first party. Instead, he chose a theme centered around the man that he has been dreaming to be like since he was six....SUPERMAN! Yes, at 29 years old, the flying dreams still occur, but that's a whole different blog. Something almost went wrong with the cake, but thankfully I spoke up just in time! I'm not sure if the little old man checking me out was not familiar with what they packaged their cakes in, but he attempted to flip over the cake to find the price scan label. I informed him (quickly and loudly) that there was a cake in that box and to please NOT turn it over! I suggested that he get his little hand-held scanner rather than trying to scan it through the one attached to the cash register. WHEW! That was a close one. Other than the close call with the cake...things went well!! I think we had just as good of a time playing with Jaxon's toys as he did!!
