Of Mice and Men

On Saturday we packed up the family to go see my nephew, Evan, star in Steinbeck's, Of Mice and Men play. He did such a great job and I was very proud of him. Shawn and our kids stayed with my B-I-L, Matt, because there was some language in the play that I didn't want my kids hearing...especially Faith, she picks up on things pretty fast. We were very proud of Evan, though, his part as Carlson contained some cuss words, and without any swaying from his parents or anyone else, he asked the director if he could leave those parts out. Only Evan and one other girl ended up with lines that had no cursing. I thought that was pretty bold of him and I am very proud of the character God has molded him to be. I know my sister and B-I-L have worked hard to "train up" Evan in the way he should go and I am proud of them, too.

A quick picture before heading to the play...
