Special Visitors from Ohio

On Sunday, my dad and step-mom came in from Ohio. We had such a great time. The kids and I met them in Frisco for church at Stonebriar. My dad and Chuck Swindoll are old time friends, so he enjoys listening to him preach. There was a song that was played that made my dad start to cry, and of course, watching him cry made me cry. I'll post the lyrics below--if you are a parent, you'll see why the song brought tears to our eyes. After church, we went to Fuddrucker's and ate some yummy hamburgers. We spent the rest of the afternoon just watching football and baseball games, and spending time with each other. Faith told me that she wants to drive to Ohio very soon...I'm sure she won't enjoy the 1200-mile car trip, though. We had a great time Grandpa and Grandma Ohio!!! Oh, and by the way, my sixty-one year old dad is now on Facebook...he's pretty excited! I had a great time showing him the ropes!

All ready for church.

Find us Faithful-Mohr
We're pilgrims on the journey
Of the narrow road
And those who've gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace
Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who've gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives
Chorus:
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift though all we've left behind
May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
II Timothy 4:7-8
