The Christmas Journey

Tomorrow evening we had plans to meet up with my sister and her family to go to Bethlehem Revisted in Waxahachie, since they live in Midlothian; the next town over. Well, this morning Faith woke up with a fever for the first time in FOREVER, so we went ahead and cancelled our plans; since she would not have been 24 hours, fever free. We pretty much quarantined ourselves to the house all day. Later on that evening, I thought it would be good to get a little breather, as Faith was feeling a tad bit better, but still running fever. So, we decided to drive-through The Christmas Journey here in McKinney. We had an amazing night, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Faith had many questions, and it was neat to see her reaction to things. So many times the focus is on Santa and the presents, when we truly know different. We hope to add this to our list of Christmas traditions.
Upon entering, Faith and Jaxon were given crayons, coloring books, and peppermints from the Roman soldiers. We were also given a CD that provided narration of the night's journey to play/pause each scene.

Angel Appears to Mary: But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. Luke 1:30-32

Very neat! I've never been to anything like that; I know we would love it, too! It's so neat to see people focusing on Jesus at Christmas time. Great pictures!
