Joining the Next Decade

WOW, I can't believe I'm officially thirty years old. I thank God for each and every one of those years he has blessed me with, and for all the memories that will last a lifetime. Saturday morning started off with the kids and Shawn taking me to IHOP for a birthday breakfast. And, snow was still on the ground! After we feasted on all you can eat pancakes, we headed to the mall for some birthday shopping.

We had a 5:15 reservation for Truluck's in Southlake, and a 2:35 movie to catch. So we headed to my sister's house to drop off the kids for the evening. My seventh graders spent the first quarter of the school year reading, Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, so I was pretty eager to see the movie. Unfortunately, when we got there, tickets were sold out, and we wouldn't have been able to sit together even if we purchased tickets in advance online. The only other movie that was playing and ended on time for our reservations was The Wolfman. It was an okay movie, but I definitely wouldn't give it two thumbs up. The gruesomeness alone eliminated that for me.

After the movie we browsed around Barnes and Nobles for a few minutes and then strolled over to Truluck's. The ambiance was absolutely gorgeous and quite the romantic place to be that evening. If you love seafood and steak; I highly recommend this place.

I know my next thirty years will be years that I will look forward to-the best is yet to come!
