A REEL Fun Day

Years ago, Shawn took one of his first groups of kids from Community ISD on a field trip to the Texas Freshwater Fishery in Athens, TX, which also happens to be Shawn's birth place (Athens, that is). He's always told me that when the kids got a little older that he wanted all of us to go there. Today this finally came to fruition and I'm so glad it did. Faith and Jaxon had their first little fishing adventure, we saw many different types of fish, including our friends Nemo and Dorie. Faith and Jaxon got to feed the catfish, who were very hungry when we came by, and we even got to see a scuba guy in a huge aquarium feed tons of fish. Afterwards, we drove to Canton to eat at one of my East Texas favorites, The Dairy Palace. After eating their world famous burgers...you can never pass up their Blue Bell ice cream station for dessert. So yummy! What a fun day we had with each other. I love summers off with my sweet family.

Come with me and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19

I didn't know Shawn was born in a fishery! (Just kidding of course...it sounded like that because of the wording) :)
