Tonight we travelled to Gina's hometown of Midlothian, DFW's Southern Star, as they call it. The little town of Midolothian has got to be the cutest ever. It has a great country feel but the City of Dallas is only 25 minutes away. They do a wonderful job of preserving their history and they definitely take pride in their quaint downtown.
Our evening started off at Campuzano's--the most popular Mexican restaurant in the city. Anything you eat at this place is absolutely wonderful and it has such a nice atmosphere. After chowing down on tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, we decided that we were going to need some dessert. So, we walked next door to the Gimme Sugar Bakery and bought up several different kinds of their homemade cupcakes. We took our cupcakes and walked over to the Lighthouse Coffee Bar (owned by one of the local churches), where we could get comfortable on their big couches and just chat some more.
My sisters and I are at different stages and seasons in our lives right now, and it's nice and often funny to be able to listen to and share stories about memories, womanhood, marriage, child-rearing, etc. My oldest sister, Maria, has taken on the role of step-mom, and is also pregnant with a little one herself. My second oldest sister, Deanna, has one more school year until her oldest graduates from high school and is also raising a pre-teen girl. My third oldest sister, Gina, is raising a pre-teen boy, and has one that is a 2nd grader. Then, there's me with my three and four year old babies who are growing right before my eyes. It's nice to know that I have sisters than have already gone ahead of me, and who are wise beyond their years when it comes to all different walks of life. One minute we're crying and the next we're laughing. I'm so thankful for my three, big sisters!
