Texas State Fair--FRIED and True

We had such a wonderful day today. Shawn and I took off from work and pulled the kids from preschool (shame on us), so that we could have some much-needed family time. We woke up bright and early, had a nice breakfast, and loaded up for the fair. We did so many things, but top on our lists were the Dog Show, The Barnyard Kids, and the Kidway Rides. Faith and Jaxon both said that their favorite ride was the airplanes. We had a couple of fair food snacks, but decided to eat lunch elsewhere to end off our day together before Shawn had to be at football practice. Yes, there is no taking off from football practice if you coach in the State of Texas. And, speaking of football, Shawn really enjoyed walking through the Tom Landry exhibit, as did I. Aside from being a great coach with many football accolades, I remember when he died on my birthday in 2000. All in all we enjoyed spending time together and these are the moments we truly live for.
