Giving Thanks

Our Thanksgiving break started off in Longview with Shawn's family. While Shawn's mom was at work we spent some time shopping around Longview and laying up--naps are the best! The kids had so much fun riding in their Jeep on Grandma Sheryl's land, they jumped on the trampoline, and we even raked up some leaves to jump in. Wednesday evening we had Thanksgiving dinner as a family, and then we made our way back to McKinney that evening.
I even got a chance to catch up with some old high school friends. Me, Kendrah and Addie all went to middle school and high school together. On top of that, we all grew up in the same neighborhood and had many playdates. We spent about 2.5 hours at Chick-Fil-A and got to chat while the kids played in the kid area. It's crazy to think we're all grown up with kids of our own!
Thanksgiving morning we snuggled up with the kids and watched Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. After the movie, we opened our traditional Thanksgiving jar and reflected on God's blessings and provision over our lives. The kids would open up the slips of paper, hand them to us, and then we read them aloud. After a family prayer, I cooked the remainder of the food to be brought to my mom's house, and we were on the road to Keller.
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1
