Year number five...I remember rocking Faith at night as a baby, thinking how much time I had until Faith turned five; the day came too quickly and it was an emotional one at that. Our morning started out with Faith waking up to the traditional balloons that took over her room, and we played the track on her princess CD that sang happy birthday to Princess Faith. Faith enjoyed her birthday donuts and we even got a number five donut! We sent Faith to school with birthday cupcakes so all her friends could celebrate with her. After school we had big, celebration plans. This year, we opted out of our traditional, family birthday party. We know the years to come will be filled with many friend/big family birthday parties, so we just wanted to spend this milestone birthday with our little family.
Faith asked to go to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday dinner--the girl loves to throw the peanuts on the floor. Faith enjoyed her six ounce sirloin complete with mashed potatoes. The staff came out and did a little rodeo gig with her, and then we headed out to the new bowling alley in Allen, Splitsville. I had no clue this place would be hopping on a Thursday night and we found out there was a two-hour wait just to bowl. I see reservations in our future! We watched all the bowlers for about thirty minutes and decided to make our way home. We sang happy birthday to Faith and presented her with her princess, birthday cake. For the opening of her presents we made a scavenger hunt for Faith and she had so much fun listening to the clues and running to unwrap the presents. I read the first clue for the first gift (Gigi's first day of school--perfect for the night before Kindergarten next year), Shawn the second (Cinderella book with white gloves and a diamond ring), and little brother, Jaxon, helped her "read" the clue for the last gift (Rapunzel doll from Tangled). We had such a wonderful evening!
