Our Land

The sellers took our offer, we signed the dotted line, and the official closing is just a few, short weeks away. We bought our land (1.13 acres) in Farmersville, about fifteen minutes from McKinney. I feel like we have easy access to all our friends and family. We can hop on 380 and we're on 75 in about 15 minutes, we get can on 380E and hop on 78 to go to Nevada/Royse City/Rockwall areas, 380E takes us straight to Greenville, or we can take 380W all the way to the Denton/Keller area, etc. I love our subdivision and all the unique houses located there. We have a beautiful view of Lake Lavon and we are totally excited to build now. Our house plans have been ready for quite sometime, with a few modifications here and there. And, if you've been keeping up with my blog, you know that we (Shawn and Lisa) are calling in all the contractors ourselves. This will actually be a custom house built just the way we've always dreamed. We are entering into some uncharted water with this new journey of house-building, but we've partnered up with some fine folks from Owner Builder Network to make life a lot easier! Our house plans were inspired by Satterwhite Log Homes in Longview (The Woodland), but our house will be brick, not log, and we did make some amendments. Don't worry, I'll keep this blog posted and let you know when we nail more things down. For now, here's some pictures of the land and its views!

We're #5 on the map, but our red star isn't posted yet.
