We got a phone call from the school nurse a couple of weeks ago informing us that Jaxon had a slight astigmatism in his right eye. Normal tests are 1.0 and Jaxon scored a 1.1, so I requested that he be tested again. The second time he was tested; he scored a 1.8. So, we made an appointment with our optometrist, Dr. Hollingsworth, to check everything out. He also said that Jaxon had a slight astigmatism, but it was nothing to be alarmed about. Since eyes are steadily growing and changing at this age, he told us that he didn't want Jaxon to get glasses right now because that could slow down visual maturity. Jaxon does have 20/20 vision though and was so cute naming all the little pictures that flashed up on the wall. We'll be back next year to check things out again.
