Mother-Daughter Brunch

What a great kick-off to Mother's Day Weekend. Our church held a mother-daughter brunch, and we invited a great mother-daughter couple to join us, Shannon and Kailee. The morning started off with some yummy breakfast--meatballs, quiche, fruit, pastries--THE WORKS! After breakfast we had a wonderful time of worship, and then the staff took the girls away to make a craft for us while we listened to a mother-daughter couple speak. Dr. Ewing is our Children's Minister, and her daughter, Meredith (who went to Faubion), joined her to speak. It was so nice to hear such great advice from a mother who has been several steps ahead of us, and it was also great to hear Meredith's perspective on what our daughters need from us. We each went home with a list of suggested books (Bible studies to do with our daughters, dates, tea time, etc), and we also received a daughter photo album/notepad to fill up for our daughters. Shannon and I both won giftcards from a drawing they held at the end of the morning, as well. What a fun time we had with our sweet daughters.
