Saying Good-bye to Maddy...

Today was a sad day. We had to say good-bye to our cat, Maddy, who we’ve had for four years. I broke down and just cried to Shawn. I just hope and pray that her new home is very friendly and welcoming. Maddy was the perfect house pet for the kids. Although she was very independent, she still loved to play with Faith and Jaxon. She was our sweet tabby cat with beautiful lime-green eyes. Faith was really the closest to Maddy and they really bonded quite a bit. Maddy wore many hats for Faith, at times she was Faith’s baby, sometimes she was Faith’s horse, and other times she was just Faith’s cat. When I got home from dropping Maddy off to her new home, Faith asked me, “Where is Maddy?” Shawn told her that Maddy went bye-bye, and she simply said, “Okay.” But, the lingering question of, “Where’s Maddy,” became very repetitious throughout the day. So......we headed to Build-A-Bear and got Faith her very own stuffed tabby cat, built with kisses and great wishes. She looks just like Maddy except that her hair is much lighter, she is smaller, and, obviously, she’s not alive. I asked Faith what she wanted to name her new cat, and she told me that she wanted to name her Tiger. So, we have a new “pet” in the house. Since we adopted Tiger, Faith has not asked any questions about Maddy. I am sure there will be times when she asks, but we will continue to stick with our line, “Maddy went bye-bye.”

We have a cat named Tiger! And she looks a lot like Maddy. Tell Faith to bring her Tiger over to play with our Tiger any time:)!
