Lake DeGray Marriage Conference

Each summer Shawn and I look forward to our annual marriage conference in Lake DeGray. Last year, we attended the one at Quartz Mountain Resort in Oklahoma, because the DeGray conference was held the last Friday of school. We were glad that they swapped that around this year. In all honesty, though, no matter where the conference is held, this is always an amazing time for Shawn and myself. It's where we can have a long period of time to focus on one another and our marriage with no interruptions. I called it a marriage revival because it really fires us up for the upcoming year. God continues to grow us and work in our marriage, and for that, I am very thankful. No one has a perfect marriage and it can be hard work, so I feel this recharge is vital for us each and every summer.

On Saturday, during our couple's time, we decided to go to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We went and toured the old, historical bath houses and shopped downtown for a bit. After that, we made our way back to the resort and took a much needed, two-hour nap.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the partner you've given me in Shawn. Help us to always praise you in the mountains and valleys, and help us to be obedient to your will in our lives. Give us wisdom and discernment in every decision we make in our lives and in the lives of our children. Most of all it is our prayer to glorify you with our marriage, love, and devotion to one another. We love because you first loved us. In Jesus Name, Amen.
