Yesterday was Faith's first experience at the dentist office and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Faith did such a good job obeying and holding her mouth open. She was truly a big helper! The hygienist and the dentist were so good with Faith. They polished and flossed her teeth and won Faith over by saying they were putting "princess sparkles" on her teeth, as well. While the hygienist and dentist were visiting with me, Faith had a great time brushing Al the Alligator's teeth. At the end of the visit, Faith got to pick out a new toothbrush and a prize for being a great trooper! She also received floss, toothpaste, and an hour-glass. All in all it was a great experience. Faith said, "I can't wait to go back tomorrow!" But, I was the bearer of bad news when I told her that it wouldn't be until March that we would make a visit again. She said, "I'm okay with that, too, mommy!"
So, at three years old, here's the report:
Faith has twenty pearly, white teeth (ten on the top and ten on bottom). She has no cavities and great spacing. HUZZAH!
Here's the book we've been reading to prepare her for the big visit.

Al the Alligator, Faith's new friend at the dentist.
Open wide...
Amanda, the hygienist, letting Faith feel the small brush that would polish her teeth.

Picking out her prize of choice...so glad she didn't pick the whoopee cushion :)

Brushing
(to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")
Here's my toothpaste, Here's my brush
I won't hurry, I won't rush.
Working hard to keep teeth clean
Front and back and in between
When I brush for quite a while
I will have a happy smile.

My boys SO would have chosen the whoopie cushion! You just wait. Give Jaxon a few years and that will be his prize of choice! :-)
I'm so glad she did so well! Yay! Looks like a kid-friendly dentist, too. I love the teeth brushing song! I'm going to use it with Randall. He will appreciate it because usually I just make up songs while we brush. :-)
