Texas State Fair

Flashback to two and a half years ago. I was four months pregnant with Jaxon and Faith was just a baby. We're standing at one of the Fletcher corn dog stands and I black out. Not only was I embarrassed, but floods of emotions came streaming my direction that day. That was my most recent memory of the fair and I knew I needed to give the thought of going to the fair a chance to redeem itself. Although we had a great time, I have to say that going on the last day is not the most astute choice. At one point I stood in the coupon line for thirty minutes only to find that when it was my turn to purchase, they were all out of coupons. And it would be just my luck for the man to have absolutely no clue as to when he would be getting anymore. LOVELY! We did eventually get coupons and bought some corn dogs, lemonade, and fried cheesecake. Complete gluttony, I know. But to me, the fair is all about the food, wouldn't you agree? Aside from eating, we had fun looking at all the cars, listening to the Irishmen play their bagpipes, and going to the backyard circus. I am a people watcher by nature, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I saw some very interesting things:

1. To the man who just HAD to have a picture in front of the Women's Museum with the perfectly, architectured, naked lady. One question: Why?

2. To the lady with the bright, pink stilettos on. Sister, have you ever heard of tennis shoes? I know your feet paid the price at the end of the day.

3. To the forty-year old man sitting next to me at the circus, when the ringmaster asks for kids to raise their hand if they want to be a ballerina in the circus, you don't jump up and down like you're on The Price is Right. And, a ballerina? Are you kidding me?
