Thanksgiving Jar

Last Thanksgiving, we decided that we wanted to do something as a family each year, that would help us focus in on the Lord's blessings in our lives. We started keeping our first little Thanksgiving jar last year. Each time something happened in our lives that we felt was a blessing from God, we would write it down, fold it up, and put it in the mason jar-housed in the kitchen. The idea was to be intentional and gather around as a family to read all the things we put down over a course of a year.

We're headed to Longview tomorrow morning to have Thanksgiving with Shawn's side of the family. Since this was our last evening together before Thanksgiving, we thought there was no better time than tonight, to relive and recapture all of the blessings this past year.

We let the kids take the blessings out of the jar and Shawn and I read them aloud. What a great reflection we had of the Lord's blessings, promises, and bountiful gifts. Thank you, Lord, how could we ask for more?

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
