The daffodil is one of the first flowers of spring and is often looked at as the flower of rebirth. The beauty of hundreds of trumpet-shaped structures set against star-shaped backgrounds was absolutely breathtaking. I absolutely love seeing God in all the seasons that change and in all the beautiful landscaping that He created for us.
We met Aunt Shauntell and Cousin Bailie in Whiteoak so we could make a quick SUV change. I knew her Escalade would trump my Escape while travelling this specific terrain. They've been coming to Mrs. Lee's for quite sometime now, and I can't believe with my East Texas upbringing that I had never been to this place. Faith and Jaxon really enjoyed the flowers, but unfortunately Jaxon didn't get to enjoy them as much as Faith. There were signs posted up everywhere with rules that we were to abide by, and Jaxon had a hard time following the rules. I know of at least three or four daffodils that were picked by the hand of our curious Jaxon. I'm hoping for better behavior in the bluebonnets in just a few weeks.

One-room pioneer cabin constructed in 1954 that Mrs. Lee had built to add to the setting--it overlooks Lake Josephine.
