Our New Friends

Two weeks ago our new friends arrived in the mail. Yes, the mail....five new caterpillars. Honestly, they all looked dead to me. Even Faith said, "Mom, I think they're dead and need to go to heaven with Jesus." The pamphlet told us to give the caterpillars at least a week to start moving around. After a week and two days of observing stagnant caterpillars; we sent them to caterpillar heaven (my tall, black, Umbra trash can). Two days later, we received our second shipment of caterpillars. These caterpillar friends were perfect...they were active, mobile, and crawling all over the place....ALL five of them. Two of them have already braved their way to the top of the cup, toying with the idea of starting their (pupa) chrysalis. Faith and Jaxon are so excited and can't wait for them to turn into painted-lady butterflies. In the meantime, we'll just keep reading The Hungry Caterpillar.

We'll continue to update you on the butterfly life cycle in our house, so check back soon.
Your Word has given me life. Psalm 119:50
