St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon

Last week at school Faith and Jaxon learned about safety and safety equipment when riding bikes, skates, and scooters. On Saturday, both of the kids participated in the St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon to raise money for research for these unfortunate kids. The event was held at one of the Mckinney elementary schools, and it was comprised of all the teachers' kids that attend preschool within the school district. Each kid was given a driver's license, a competition number, and a license plate. There were two courses, the inside course was for slower-moving, bicycle traffic, and is where Jaxon chose to spend most of his time. He was in his own little world just cruising around in a rectangle. Faith, on the other hand, spent her time on the outside track with the faster-moving, bicycle traffic. We must have seen about two-dozen crashes and two major pile ups. Thankfully, our kids were not involved, but as a parent it was still kind of scary to watch. All in all, the kids came out accident-free and had so much fun. They served a light breakfast towards the end, and it was just what the kids needed after they used up all their energy that morning. When all was said and done, we explained to Faith and Jaxon why they were truly riding their bicycles today and who they were riding them for.
