Lake DeGray Marriage Conference

This weekend, Shawn and I attended our annual marriage conference for the sixth year in a row. We had a wonderful weekend as always and I got to meet some new friends. The only difference this year was that I had a nasty stye on my eyelid, preventing me from wearing makeup and I got to sport my nerdy glasses the entire weekend. This was my first stye experience and I'll just go ahead and say that I hope it's my last. GROSS! Any down time was spent doctoring my eye and applying my $107 dollar ointment to it. That's no typo...there's no generic for the lovely ointment. But, I must admit that if a stye is all I have to deal with the rest of my life; I'm in pretty good condition. Our travelling companions this year were the Wares who are expecting their first child in January. On our free time we signed up for a boat and rode around beautiful Lake DeGray with some of our friends and new McKinney Lion family. We also went with the Wares on a little hiking adventure. The speaker was amazing and really challenged both of us in the area of humility towards one another. What a wonderful weekend and one that Shawn and I look forward to each and every summer. See you next summer, Lake DeGray!
