Swim Lessons-2010

This week Faith and Jaxon took swim lessons at the McKinney High School Natatorium. This is Faith's second year, and Jaxon's first. They both really loved being in the water and kicking/splashing around with the best of them. I've blogged each day to show their progression.
Day 1: Both kids were a little apprehensive as they haven't been in a pool for quite sometime, so there was a lot of cuddling/squeezing/hugging of their teachers. John (Faith's teacher) and Robert (Jaxon's teacher) were troopers, though. This was Jaxon's first time in swim lessons- today he blew bubbles in the water and learned to make big circles with his arms. Faith was content with floating around the pool for today.

Day 2: The opposite of Day 1. Both kids were eager to get in the pool. Faith was going under the water quite a bit and moving her arms and legs, simultaneously, to demonstrate the proper swimming technique. Jaxon started going under water all by himself and consistently made big circles with his arms.
Day 3: Both kiddos continued to work on their swimming skills. Faith jumped into the pool with no help from Mr. John, and Jaxon got brave and jumped in, too (with help from Mr. Robert). These were the major highlights from today.
Day 4 & 5-Both kids continued to improve on the skills they learned this week. Both days were huge because they were jump off the diving board days. We are pleased with all their teachers taught them and look forward to more days to swim at the pool and beach this summer.

I told the kids that we would go by and get a special treat for all their hard work this week in swim lessons. They chose popcorn from, I Love Popcorn!
