House Building Weeks 12-13

Whew--I got side-tracked with school starting that I've neglected house updates.

Our stair case is completely done, so Faith and Jaxon can actually walk upstairs by themselves without holding our hands. The trim guys have completed all the trim around the doors and they put in our baseboards. We also have shelving in every closet and the kitchen pantry is complete, as well. Our septic tanks were installed and the masonry guys finished Shawn's built-in grill. The garage doors were also installed. Last night we bought all the door knobs we need for the entire house. The biggest thing that got done last week is the outside of our house was painted--all 23 columns, siding, ceiling of wrap-around porch, garage, etc, were all painted white. The last thing that needs to get done on the outside of our house is the railing in between all the columns (those will be white, as well).

I won't be taking any picture of the inside...I have to leave your mind wondering ya know...so you'll come and visit us. :)

The checklist is getting shorter and shorter by the day. Cabinets will be done in about a week and we'll bring our painter in to stain and then to paint the entire house. Then, we will get all our counter tops installed, tiling for all wet areas, and carpet put in. And, we still have our driveway to get done. Seriously, there's not a lot left to do! We are hoping to move in by the end of September, so we shall see.
