Tonight, the kids and I went back to our old stomping grounds of Royse City to see Coach Bookout's team take on North Mesquite. We met up with his wife and kids for breakfast for dinner at Dennys--if you haven't tried their pumpkin pancakes with the cinnamon-sugar whip cream; you are in for a treat! After our delicious dinner, we made our way to RCHS to watch some basketball. I was particularly excited to watch Tayler Young play. I taught Tayler while I was an elementary school teacher at Davis Elementary. Tayler was in sixth grade at the time (I was pregnant with Faith), and I've watched her play basketball for several years since then. It was nice to visit with her parents, Carol and Terry Young, as well. Carol was on my teaching team at Davis and a sweet friend to have. After the game, the kids ran free on the basketball court with Maci and Dylan Bookout...it pays to know the Girls Athletic Director. We're hoping for some awesome things to happen for the RCHS basketball team this year! Go Bulldogs!
