Hello San Diego...Day 1

We got here today at 2 P.M.  We got all settled in our hotel and then headed for the beach.  We were originally headed to Del Mar, but so many people advised us to go to Coronado Beach, that we changed our minds.  Del Mar was a further drive, so it was nice to stay in San Diego at Coronado Beach.  The Pacific wasn't what I expected...it was FREEZING cold, I mean like 50 degrees COLD.  Once the water hit our feet, Shawn and I knew we wouldn't be going in the water.  Faith and Jaxon, on the other hand, went in the water, and while they were cold, they loved the waves crashing in their faces.

After beach time, we headed over to Phil's BBQ for some yummy dinner. Phil's has been features on The Food Network for some of the best BBQ around.  The line we waited in wrapped around the front part of the building, but it was certainly worth the wait.  What a great start to vacation!!
