Happy Valentine's Day! When we got home from school we read EVERY valentine that the kids received from friends at the big V-day party. Faith and Jaxon traded cards so that she'd have all the girly ones and he'd had all the boy ones.
This evening, we were getting out of the car to take Faith to piano lessons, when all of a sudden a BEE came up and stung her on the left, inside portion of her ring finger. I have never heard her cry so loud! I rushed into the building into the teacher's lounge to get a closer look. No stinger was present and I quickly let her hold ice on her finger while checking for any breakouts on her belly, back and arms. Nothing, thankfully. I did learn from my school nurse that normally kids don't show allergic reactions with the first sting--it's usually with the subsequent stings you'll see reactions. I checked the cabinet for baking soda, tobacco (I know), to help draw the poison out but I had no luck. My principal quickly came to the rescue with this "special" ointment he had, and we were good to go for piano practice. Phew! This was the first time Faith had ever been stung by anything.
After piano, we took the kids to AWANA, and Shawn and I snuck in a quiet dinner at Petra in McKinney. Seriously, it's the best Mexican food I've EVER had! Everything was wonderful as always and we concluded our dinner with their famous churros!
We can LOVE each other because He first LOVED us. 1 John 4:19
