Last summer, my friend and I were stopped by Giselle Phelps from TV-33 news for an impromptu interview about a newlywed couple from Plano who decided not to use plastic for an entire year. Although Jen and I pretty much agreed that it wouldn't be feasible for the season of life we were in; I started thinking about some little things I could do here and there to be more eco-friendly.
One of the first things I decided to do was to buy my own set of reusable grocery bags. I've been using them, faithfully, for about seven months now and here's two things I LOVE about them. First and foremost, there's more room in the bags so we can fit more groceries in them. And, of course, they're more durable; eliminating the chance for milk or juice to fall through the bag and onto the ground. Secondly, I'm not going to lie, I honestly feel GOOD about helping the earth and I get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Power of one, right??
And, here's another change that we've adopted in the Copeland household. About four months ago, Allen built a Whole Foods Store about five minutes up the highway from us. Now, I don't buy EVERYTHING organic, but we've taken a liking to specific things that are organic. There's no way I'll go back to what I used to buy. These things taste fresh and are much better. Our main WF staples include, pastas, pasta sauce, organic fruits, salad, crackers, soup, and cereal bars. You seriously can taste the difference and it's not a mind over matter thing, either.
So, here's to a healthier earth and body!!

We are STARS! Actually, we made a resolution to actually use the recycling service that comes weekly to our house. Starting to feel bad after living her for 5 years, and only the Wolfe's have their's out!
