He is Risen!

What a wonderful day to celebrate our Risen Savior. Our weekend started by attending the Good Friday service at our church. It was very emotional but inspirational for those who truly believe. We did the traditional resurrection eggs with the kids and they were so in to each and every detail of the story--many, many questions from Jaxon this year. We also made yummy resurrection rolls which further aided us in telling the resurrection story. We didn't get a family picture of the four of us this year. Shawn took the kids to the 8 A.M. service, and I was busy singing in all four services. But, when I got home, Shawn and I prepared ham, broccoli-rice-cheese casserole, baked beans, and rolls that we ate for lunch and dinner. Go us! Also, no extra Easter egg hunts this year in addition to the one they always have at school. On Friday morning when I dropped the kids off at school, Jaxon went up to this little girl and said, "Easter is not about eggs and candy; it's about Jesus' resurrection."

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen. Matthew 28:5-6
