Fourth of July Weekend

We had a great weekend full of fireworks and fun! We headed down to Henderson to celebrate with our good friends, Darren and Elanna. We did so much that I would be typing here all day, so I'm going to post some pics and add my captions to make blogging life a little easier ;)

Me, Shawn, Darren and ElannaShawn and his BFF, Darren
Ready to see some firewoks (as Faith would say). My two boys just hanging out before we leave

The live band for the evening...I really enjoyed listening to them sing and play. We sang the national anthem, some good old country songs, and the hymns that everyone knows. A little girl walked up on stage and sang Jesus Loves Me...it was absolutely precious! I know each year we celebrate July 4th because of our country's independence, but I truly thank God for the freedom that He's given us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Faith out there just checking out some of the blow-ups and the swing-set. They had some other blow-ups on the other side of the yard.
So, the July 4th album has seen better family pictures than this, but this man came around and handed all the kids these neon glow sticks before the fireworks started...Oh well!

She watched about three fireworks and......

CONKED OUT!!! She still loves sucking that thumb when she sleeps!!

The next day we went to Hallsville to celebrate Ashlyn Maroney's third birthday! It was a circus-themed party and the kids had a blast!!!

Ashlyn's gorgeous cake...
This was their favorite "booth"

And, we're back for some more fun at the Hylander's house....Here's Brayden, Jordyn and Faith having fun in the kid pool!

Elanna and I slipped out for some girl time and I happened to find a Melissa and Doug Band-in-a-Box set. Faith just LOVES anything musical, so I couldn't pass this down. This set includes a tambourine, cymbals, maracas, clacker, tone blocks and a triangle bell! As I'm typing Faith and Jaxon both are putting on a performance in their bedroom!
