There's No Place Like Home

Since this was our last weekend together before we started school on Monday (tomorrow), I just wanted to lay low and spend time with Shawn and the kids. So, we made some adventures at home. I think the only time we left home was to run a few errands on Saturday. Shawn's classroom was absolutely bare, so I had to liven it up a little bit. In all honesty, with his football schedule, he's had zero time in his classroom. While at home we wrestled, read a billion books, made some art, played Betty Crocker in the kitchen, etc. While waiting for Shawn to get home from work on Saturday, Faith and I were watching Oswald (has anyone seen this show on Noggin?) Oswald is the blue octopus and Faith really loves watching him walk around with his friends. I was preparing lunch and I told Faith to draw me a picture on her white board. She comes running out about two minutes later shouting, "Oswald, Oswald, Oswald, Mommy!" I ran into the room and she actually drew a pretty good picture (for a two-year old) of Oswald. Yes, I know in her picture he only has five legs and not eight, but I was pretty proud of her. (See picture below). This evening we had stew and Faith helped me in the kitchen with preparing the cornbread. She was SO excited! I meant to put her little apron on, but forgot, oh well. Anyway, we had a truly, wonderful weekend, with absolutely nothing on our agenda. Sometimes, those are the best weekends ever! I hope all my teacher friends have a wonderful first day of school! I saw this sign while driving through another school district....

Here's OSWALD!

They're actually being rolled in Shawn's chair on our way to his classroom!
Our little Gold Medalist...
I love pictures of kids when they're sleeping...yes, he sleeps with about three inches of the blanket in his mouth.
