The Eyes of Football are Upon us

Well, this was our last weekend with Shawn before he goes full-fledged into the football season. With football season comes a very exhaustive seven-day work week with much of that being in the midst of Texas heat. So, I always pray each season that the Lord would give Shawn strength and energy among other things. We thought about taking a mini-vacation somewhere as a family, but then I thought it would be just as special to stay around the Dallas area, as long as we were together as a family. That is truly what mattered the most. So, that's exactly what we did! Shawn was actually off on Friday, so we spent time watching some movies together, and we took a kids for a spin in the wagon. Saturday, we had lunch at La Hacienda Ranch which was very yummy. But, I must admit, dessert was what I was really looking forward to. For a long time now, I've heard celebrities on TV talk about a cupcake place called, Sprinkles. When I used to be an Oprah fan, I recall her talking about Sprinkles, as well. So, we drove to Highland Park to indulge in some yummy, strawberry cupcakes. I can't wait to go back so we can try some other flavors!

Checking out all the taxidermist treasures.

This was definitely his favorite!!!

Don't let the face fool you...she wasn't letting anyone near her cupcake. She loved it!

It looks like the Dallas staycation worked. How fun! Good luck during football season. My husband played college football and still dreams of coaching when he retires. It's a big job being married to a football coach-- but I bet it can be so fun too!
