We LOVE Playing with our Food

Can I just say that we absolutely love the children's books by Jamie Lee Curtis. Several posts ago, you might remember us reading, Tell Me Again About the Night I was Born, which brought about several intriguing questions from Faith, and led me to break out the belly/baby pictures to show her. For the past couple of days, we started reading, When I was Little: A Four Year Old's Memoir of her Youth. In the book there is a recollection of playing with spaghetti noodles to spell names. So, of course, Faith asked if we could do the very same thing. The kids waited patiently for their whole wheat spaghetti noodles to boil and cool down. Then, we helped them spell their names with the noodles. After that, we had a noodle free-for-all and they just made whatever their little hands could construct. I didn't expect to have such a good time, but we really did. Who would have thunk it!

And, since Shawn starts football, and we both have Staff Development on Thursday and Friday, and the kids go back to school...we made some school bus sugar cookies!!! We're pretty excited about the new school year!
